Loose Ends

Matthew Draycott, a twenty-four-year-old manager of a furniture and electrical warehouse, saw an image reflected in the clouds above his mother’s house. The image was of a boat sailing on the canal. He was about to travel to Jersey on a boat, and he wondered whether the image was an omen warning him not to travel to jersey. If he had known what effect his journey to Jersey would have on his life, he would not have gone.
