The year is 1798 and England is in the midst of fighting the war with Napoleon Bonaparte's France. Rebecca Halloway, a young woman of eighteen, discovers her faith is about to be tested when she is abducted and stolen away from her home. She finds herself aboard a British ship of war, at the mercy of a strict commander with little tolerance for women and who's only desire is to see her gone.
