The Promised Land: a novel of Cape Breton

In 1970 a group of hippies wash up on the shores of Cape Breton, hilariously unequipped to meet the challenges of pioneering life. Forty years later, a new doctor coaxes her asthmatic K-Car across the causeway en-route to her first job at a small clinic in Baddeck.
