Confronted with an intolerable marriage to a man she cannot abide, Caprice Lambert decides to take refuge with her childhood friend and flees to Dorset. Dressed as a stableboy, she is determined not to return until her parents abandon their plans for her marriage. But things go sadly awry when, upon arriving at what she thinks is her destination, she finds herself in the wrong house entirely.
