If the Persians, with their million-plus man army, would have conquered the known world of 550 BC, there never would have been a Roman Empire or a Western Civilization. There could still be Egyptian Pharaohs or kings living today, with many more temples and using slaves to build their new style pyramids. Most of the world would continue to be doomed under a form of slavery that demanded that every country pay tribute to Susa (Persia’s seat).
Under such a serious repression, perhaps the car, plane, computer, or even atomic power may not have been invented because of the freedom of thought which was promoted by the Greeks would not have existed.
