The old west has changed and grown up along with modern society yet many things are the same as it had been for years past. The mystique of the old west was spawned by western cowboy stories and movies that have people wanting to visit to see what it is like. Some of the perceived ideas are accurate and still exist. Other ideas do not fit within the framework of modern living.
