Book 1 of the White Oaks Series. Welcome to White Oaks, Missouri and Living Hope Community Church. Its pastor, David Jacobs is tired; tired of the mounting hospital bills, tired of sleeping alone while his wife shuffles back and forth to the hospital with his five-year-old daughter, tired of not being able to afford things like a new coat and the special doll his daughter wants for Christmas and tired of feeling like he is an ineffective servant of God. The Sunday before Christmas he decides to turn his church over to his assistant pastor and move on. God, however, has other plans for David.
