This novel should be of interest not only to South Africans and South African expatriates all over the world, but to those wholse parents or grandparents came from Eastern Europe. to those who agree that evil can so easily repeat itself and must be stopped at its inception, and to those who have ever emigrated or are contemplating emigrating in the future. The author was born and educated in South Africa. After obtaining the degrees of Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Law, he practiced as an attorney in Johannesburg until 1976, when he and his family emigrated, first to Canada and then to the United states. His father was born in Lithuania and was fortunate enough to have been able to emigrate to South Africa as a young man. The many stories his father told his family about life in Lithuania inspired the author to start writing North South North.
