Rebel Gold Part Two

Part One told of Lucas' childhood and the Civil War years. As the Confederacy collapsed, he fled with the others leaving Richmond, heading West with his pile of stolen gold from the rebel treasury.

He was falsely accused of heinous murders and forced to flee Texas. That is where Part Two begins. he goes around the cape on a clipper ship, to San Francisco, then along the rails being built to join the coasts. He is fleeing from his devlis, looking for something, he is not sure what. Peace or happiness. Maybe.
