The Four Books in the Bird Watcher Series

Military officer Fred Miller, a practicing bird watcher, is asked to beat the bush to get photos of terrorist leaders. He is successful but must return home quickly with his new wife to avoid terrorist hitmen who are ordered to kill him. These four books follow the adventures of the man who eventually becomes Colonel Miller, respected leader of the unit that hunts terrorists in the Amazon Jungle. A Don Juan at heart, Fred romances several military women who fall in love with him. His wife is sickly and exits the story. A beautiful airplane stewardess catches Fred's attention. When hijackers attempt to take over the plane, Fred is the hero with his 9 mm pistol and restores peace to the aircraft. Now his task is to exit the plane without the reporters identifying him.
He must reckon with a man who wants to kill his wife with a coral snake, called in some places the "20 minute snake." The man is successful, and Fred seeks revenge by the same method.
Another mission into the Amazon Rainforest brings one of Fred's female soldiers into the grasp of the feared anaconda snake. Fred, with his submachine gun lays 32 9 mm bullets in the only place to stop the anaconda, its brain.
This mission is to blow up a drone base used by a Drug Cartel that starts to travel through the ancient lands of the Andino Indians. Several days march brings his unit to the outskirts of the drone base. Everyone in the unit has an assignment.
The drug cartels begin to use submersibles to move their illicit drugs, or weapons. Again the task to stop these submersibles is given to Fred's unit. They develop an arcing technique that permits them to snag a sub coming down river with a strong rope tied to a large tree. When the sub reaches the end of the rope, it is forced to swing to the shore and crash.
Fred's unit becomes so proficient at this technique, that Fred is asked to demonstrate their technique to army units throughout the continent. Naturally Fred's secretary has to accompany him on these trips. She is always a former beauty contest winner and Fred's loyalty to his wife lacks something to be desired. The Don Juan in him always wins out and the secretary returns from the conference satisfied.
