Mrs Simpson’s Miracle.
It was the coldest night – minus ten – they said,
and sensible people just went on to bed.
With pylons down, no electric for heating,
No lights to see with for cooking and eating.
Mrs Simpson lay at the foot of her stairs,
In a heap on the floor - she was caught unawares
when the lights went off - she was going to bed,
but the shock made her jump, and she fell - they said...........
A Little Girls Christmas Wish
The little girl sat quietly
Beneath the Christmas tree
She closed her eyes then prayed to God. ,
And said, “It’s not for me.
I know I shouldn’t ask you, God,
But as it’s Christmas time,
Tonight it’s Jesus’ Birthday so
I hoped you wouldn’t mind.
“I have a little brother, God,
I’m sure you know him well
He wants to stand up on his feet,
But on the day he fell
His little back was broken, God,
His leg muscles went slack
Now all he wants is one more chance
To get the feelings back..........
These are excerpts from just two of Sandra's poems which you can't fail to moved by.
