Dead Friends Forever (Zone 13)

"Dead Friends Forever" is a zombie apocalypse horror story drama surrounding two best friends who grow apart over the years due to different priorities and lifestyles. The situation escalates into a violent encounter when the town of Coldwell experiences a deadly zombie epidemic that begins with a contaminated packet of Z-13; the latest in synthetic marijuana.

TWO FRIENDS, TWO DIFFERENT PATHS AND THEN Z-13...

Alicia comes from a notorious family and expects everything to fall in her lap without any work, throwing Brandy under the bus over and over. When Brandy's had enough, she decides to leave Alicia behind. With a new location, better peers and the promise of first love, she reaches for success and achievement. For a time, she can't resist being there for a best friend who never really gives her best at all.

As a result, Brandy loses her grasp on what counts and decides it's time to sever the ties of friendship.

Filled with bitterness, depression and resentment, Alicia turns to Z-13, a supposedly legal synthetic drug. Unfortunately for mankind, the Z-13 sold at the head shop in Coldwell kills people, but they don't stay dead. These contaminated victims attack others launching a deadly zombie epidemic that terrorizes the town. The would-be "stoners" become Zoners, re-animated corpses driven by the singular goal of killing people for revenge first. While they are fixated on their target, they hunger for living flesh.

Alicia is no different than any other Zoner, and she has her kill in her sights.

Brandy is broadsided by warnings on the message board she runs and social networks that a deadly zombie epidemic has her town in its violent grip. When she's tagged in a video status update from a friend, she views the proof that her Zoner ex-BFF is coming to kill her. She misses her window of opportunity for escape and tries to get the word out, but everyone is having their own problems with Z-13. As the online lists of the dead, undead and missing expand, Brandy doubts that she'll ever hear from her dad or anyone else.

Brandy has solid shelter, but for how long? How long can this geek hold out in her closed in apartment before Alicia finds a way in? Will she get out of her apartment when all she can see is destruction from her limited view? She doubts her courage, her personality and her choice in friends as she tries to find a solution that doesn't involve her staring down her DFF.

The suspense builds as Brandy searches deeper into her family's past to find the strength and advice she needs to face her demons (and her family's demons) and possibly break free. Is there something out there that's more deadly than a Zoner? Only a paranormal visit from one of Brandy's long dead family members can answer that.

Told in a journal format, this story is chilling. Complete with gore and psychological attacks, terror ensues from a new zombie that can be as demented and mean as it is hungry.
