The Gimmick

this is a short story for mid-grade readers. Danny meets the preacher in front of the old church. The preacher tells him that they are about to tear down the old church which needs repairs and put a parking lot there. Danny and his friends play baseball on the lot behind the church. He can't let them tear it down. He also has another problem. He got a D on his report card and that would mean no baseball for a while. What he needed was a gimmick.
