As the Babylonian empire threatened to conquer ancient Jerusalem, the Hebrew prophet Jeremiah exhorted and beseeched it's people to follow their moral mission. Into a scroll written for his grandson, fifty years after Jeremiah’s death, Baruch unburdens his heart about his entangled ties with the prophet, recalling a vanished world of teeming Jerusalem alleys and markets.
