Penance

A lowly angel from the ranks is appointed as guardian for the children that have spent their young lives consumed by pain and suffering. But each time, he fails his young charges. Filled with remorse, the angel repents in the only way he knows, and takes on the agony his young charges went through. It was his penance to remember his failings. All alone the angel learns the true cost of love.
