One of the more interesting characters in the Accursed trilogy, Georges Steil’s long life ends in Accursed, his death leaving his group, the Pagan Resistance, without a leader. Prior to this the eccentric 79 year old had led a colourful life which is explored in the following short stories and novellas, compiled together here. From humble origins, the unassuming street magician, Georges Steil is a man of many talents with an uncanny ability to find trouble. This collection depicts some of his more outrageous adventures and romances between 1899 to 1943. End-of-the-world cults, anarchic zombie terrorists, black lodges, disfigured sculptors and living statues - all human (and inhuman) life is covered here.
