The Shadows Before Dawn

Within the Mines of Mithras, there dwells a doppelganger for every man, woman and child of Alexandria. These creatures are the Golems, artificial bodies which house the darkness of all men. With the wickedness of the world sealed in the darkness, Cardinal Ehrgeiz has ensured that no man may commit the sin of murder without his approval.

When cleric Lucien Goldweight returns from his travels, he is scarred by the true wickedness of the world and decides that he will not fulfill his divine sacrifice; he will not be denied heaven. Breaking his vows and visiting his Golem, the foolish man has just unleashed hell. The darkness of all now runs free, with no one to stand in the path of its destruction.

It is at this time that Telemachus Dawn, the child general of Masamune awakens. After a disastrous first battle, the teenager has found himself disfigured. Despite losing his arm and all faith in his own ability, it is he who must unravel the mystery of the mines.
