Nearly four hundred people awake to find their small town in New Mexico surrounded by armed soldiers. It quickly becomes apparent the soldiers intend to kill everyone, children included.
The only people who can stand against them are a paunchy 54 year old deputy sheriff, the town whore and the local drunk.
Even the White House is impotent in the face of a threat to burn the children alive.
