Bobby and Susan's parents were going out to a fancy restaurant for their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary and probably wouldn't be back until midnight. Just before they left the house they told Bobby and Susan, "Under no circumstances are you to answer the door for anyone. Is that understood?"
