Nihil Obstat means “nothing is forbidden.” It is an official approval/disapproval set down by Roman Catholic censors. Jude and Sharon’s story is totally forbidden! Theirs is a tale of “mythic eroticism.” Meeting at a college reunion, they reconnect after many decades. His wife is dead; her husband left to pursue the gay side of bi-sexuality. They each have a full life behind them, but realize that they passed on having a full life together when younger. Sharon feared Jude’s intensity, that to live with him would mean emotionally jumping off a cliff! Between them is an erotic attraction of mythic proportion and power. For them “love” is the lie shared by men and women that enables them not to venture beyond, into the realm of sexual experiences and the erotic ecstasy of beholding one another as Beloveds. She brings a sexual history replete with explorations of bi-sexuality, group sex, transvestism, and more. He failed to move beyond with his former wife, but when in the presence of Sharon he is drawn to risk everything...to find the cunt in himself, to endow her with the cock within her. Together, in coupled presence, they live out in their daily life the answer to “Do you want to live forever?” Their answer is “Yes.” Nothing is forbidden”—if the reader is willing to risk learning why love is The Lie.
