David Channing is a burned out private eye and ex-cop specializing in missing persons. He has had to pull the trigger one too many times and needs to get away to consider a carreer change.
He is on his way out the door when she walks in. He tells her he can't help her and refers her to another P.I.
When he returns from vacation, however, a lot has changed and Channing must take one last case.
