What lay beneath the ancient soil of Pootlegate? That was the task of the Ribchester Archeaological Trust and their small team of student volunteers to discover. Amongst them, a young Cornishman, Ruskin, attracted by the plentiful supply of girls from the Institute, the potency of the local cider, and the opportunity to earn some money to pay down his debts.
