Curiosity over a coincidence that occurs one night when the vampire, Shake, is taking a woman's blood leads him to investigate the murder of the woman's husband, and from there, the fate of a missing girl. The trail is a labyrinth leading through dirty cops, drug dealers, ex-soviet army thugs, a sentimental private eye, and finally, deep into Shake's own past.
