The civil rights movement was just that, a movement, but unfortunately that movement has slowed to an unacceptable crawl and in some cases has come to a screeching halt. Even more unfortunately, the progress towards a truly effective and sustainable partnership between white and black America has been retarded because African Americans have dropped the baton.
