Khad Ness, the main character in my ebook, is a very disturbed young woman, a college student. She is bright, very curious-minded, attractive, and withdrawn. She fantasizes extensively about morbid events from history books. To an extent this helps her along. It is her way of dealing with the pressures of the very real violence which Algerians are exposed to daily. The country is rife with terrorist activity. Most western nations advise travelers to avoid selective destinations there. Khad gradually loses control. She attempts to take an interest in reality, but falls further away from it. I have included an interlude about Fritz Fanon, the Algerian doctor/psychiatrist who wrote about the residual effects of violence in society. There is also a graphic scene of violence, in the aftermath of which I detail the rigidness of Sharia Law. I believe the erotic scenes in the ebook are not gratuitous. Instead they are more of a venting for Khad, a means of releasing the intense pressure she is dealing with. Readers will have their own ideas of how Khad's excessive anxiety has developed over time. It is a sad story in many aspects. I feel that Khad is a very plausible character. Her neuroses are a product of the brutality and instability of Algerian life.
