Lieutenant Matt Riley is a New York detective spiraling toward self-destruction until his captain “volunteers” him for an officer exchange program—to a small town called Adoration Tennessee. But Adoration lies on the outskirts of Black Ridge, and add a young widow accused of murdering her husband, which the witnesses say "a ghost done it," and the scenario becomes a lot more than he'd anticipated.
