“You are familiar with the Gadsen-Toney office building downtown I presume?”
“Certainly,” My curiosity rising by the second.
“Then you know that it has at its top, two mini-towers which are replicas of the Acropolis in Athens Greece. Each of them rises above the rest of the building by fifty feet, and stand sixty feet apart. Jason has made arrangements for a narrow bridge to be assembled between them. You will be on top of one tower, and he will be on the other. He has selected his primary rival to do the honor of whipping you from neck to ankle. You will not be bound in any way, but you must stand, with your arms over your head and take whatever lashes he delivers upon you. You absolutely must not lower your arms or the ceremony and your pending marriage will be finished. He will then blind fold you, and walk you to the edge of the bridge. As there will be no handrails, just a flat bridge, your Master’s instructions will be your safety guide to the other side. He will instruct your every step, and you had better trust and obey him, or you’ll fall… and I doubt if you would survive. If you make it, the wedding ceremony will take place, and you will live happily ever after. I told Jason that I thought he was nuts.”
