Brothers 4: King Richard Lion Heart and King John Lackland

This thoroughly researched historical novel contrasts King Richard I, poet and warrior, and the political schemes of his brother King John, which led to Runnemede, Magna Carta, and eventually to civil war and loss of the crown jewels in the Wash. The kings are profiled through conversation, letters and journals by four Irish men - 2 warriors and 2 scholars - who served under both kings.
