Nyeta and her classmates are kayaking on a wilderness river, when a massive quake rips open the earth. The few survivors, terrified, freezing and alone, start a long journey of survival in a world altered beyond recognition. They wrestle with the elements, the dark side of humanity and each other to find strength, tolerance, self-sacrifice and love.
