JJ Merrick, a successful businessman, searches for an abducted woman. Using resources that his wealth and 20 years of business provide, his search leads to the world of panhandlers, the nefarious dealings of gangsters, the heavily urban Metropolitan Metro DC area and to the isolated mountain region of West Virginia. He discovers a possible conspiracy that jeopardizes his own secret.
