Baby Impossible

Five years ago, Mona Lund faced the heart wrenching decision about having an abortion. She was young, unprepared, and frightened. Ever since, she has wrestled with the question, Did I do the right thing? Then one day she meets a little boy who looks hauntingly like her late boyfriend. But Bob couldn’t be the boy’s father. He died in an accident five years earlier, too. Mona’s quest for answers leads her back to the doctor who treated her and uncovers the doctor’s secret project. Dr. Backlund thinks she’s doing the right thing, but is she? Is her project ethical or even legal? Is she playing the role of God? The story does not try to solve the ‘right to life/woman’s choice debate.’ The author hopes to stir discussion on both sides of the divisive issue of abortion and the role of science, technology, and ethics involved.
