At the British Ambassador's Christmas party in Cambodia, US Diplomat Mike Smith meets an elegant black woman, Zainab, the wife of the British chargé, with whom he starts an affair. Smith's mission to help an American oil company to win a concession, is in direct conflict with Zainab's mission to uncover corruption.
