13 years-old Charley Brooks would have loved to be an ordinary boy, living an ordinary life and doing ordinary everyday stuff, but fate had extraordinary ideas for Charley, and he had to learn to excel in much of what he did. Charley had been rendered blind since the age of 10, and the only images he ever saw since, were what were stored in his memory, others that his imagination created, or some that he saw in dreams.
To Charley, dreams were visiting friends he welcomed with a loving embrace, they were his escape from the constraints of blindness, because in dreams Charley could see with perfect vision, and could lead while Dude, his guide-dog and best friend, would follow. But Charley could neither know, nor ever imagine that certain powers had other plans for him and three other handicapped kids of his age, plans that had been laid a thousand years before Charley’s time.
Plans had been laid by Jacob the Timeless Wizard of Sumer to help one of the greatest legendary adventurers of all time... Captain Sinbad was setting out on his last ever voyage, while on a quest to solve the riddle of the Oracle, in order to free his beloved Hanna from the captivity of an evil and jealous witch, and for this, Sinbad had to sail to a place called Shadoworld!
Shadoworld is the place for all that is lost and all that can be found, but it is also a place where worlds from different times can meet, and a place that could only be reached through dreams that open Jacob’s Gate...
