White Boy

A self assured black business woman, Mrs. Smolders controls her company by humiliating her employees in a series of complex sado-masochisitic relationships. After a brief interview, she hires the protagonist, Steven, who is himself the victim of an abusive and dysfunctional childhood. Steven embraces his humiliation at the hands of Smolders as the only reality which has ever made sense to him, and is contented with his situation until his mother reenters his life creating an irrevocable turn of events.

After beating his mother nearly to death, Steven is sentenced to prison in a plea deal, brokered by Smolders, which keeps him out of the general population and almost certain death at the hands of the other inmates. Events in prison lead to Steven's transfer to a Caribbean prison where he is subjected to corporal punishment. Eventually, he is released from prison and allowed to return, albeit in a toughened form, to Smolders' employ.
