Skin Deep

Hidradenitis Suppurativa is both debilitating and embarrassing; limiting public activities and participation. This essay represents the challenges as well as the small victories and experiences associated with the disease. From the ending of one life to the beginning of another, this disease has altered every aspect of my life and yet has left everything exactly as it was. Holding nothing back, I wrote as freely as humanly possible.
