the year was 1915 and england was at war with germany. the place was heddon on the wall northumberland england. scott and tom worked on a farm called stonehouse farm, they both tried to sign up with the army but their parents would not let them because they were too young, but the time came when scott took it into his own hands and signed up in the northumberland fusiluers.
