A Gun in the Water: The Tragedy of Marcus McAllister

Turn of the century Maine. The American Dream isn't working out for Irish immigrant Marcus McAllister. He comes to believe the only way to provide for his family is to embrace the violent past he ran away from. Events conspire beyond his control until he is wrapped up in the designs of a crooked politician who recently moved into the area. Marcus must fight new enemies, old enemies, his faith, his faltering moral compass, and the weather. In the end he finds himself in a very familiar place, running away. If his family finds safety, it will only be because of him.. or despite him?
