Sakuya Stood In The Road

Within present-day Japan the once-mighty beasts and spirits of the world have been imprisoned by a magical barrier. These creatures of evil, Youkai as they are called, are forced to live among themselves and the noble magicians who are there to battle them. Weakened by the growing apathy of the humans they once terrified, they have little desire to leave their prison.

Trapped with the beasts are a scattering of humans, one being a bastard outcast, Sakuya Izayoi. Full of courage and following her heart, Sakuya thrives where humans were not meant to survive. Although only human, the beasts she encounters quickly learn that she is no ordinary human, with or without vampire spit in her veins.

This is a light-hearted story of Sakuya Izayoi who faces one challenge after another. Travel with Sakuya as she battles her way along a heart-warming road of adventure, duty, friendship and discovery, within this fearsome sanctuary known as Gensokyo.
