Police work is often funny, sometimes scary, but always interesting. Cops share their stories with each other all the time, often over drinks after work. The tales cover the spectrum of humorous to deadly. Often, it is not what happens to the criminal or the citizen that makes the "war stories," so compelling, but what happens to the cop, who daily wears the badge and carries a gun as he patrols his beat. "Cop Tales," are four such stories:
"The Scar," tells how a rookie learns a secret about his Field Training Officer
"Post Shooting Trauma," takes you into a gun fight and shows the unexpected aftermath.
"Day of Rest," shows how the unseen police dispatcher serves as a critical and often under-appreciated part of public safety.
"Family Ties," shows how veteran cops, prepared for violence, can use tools not on their gun belts.
