Blood on the Saddle

Ralston and Reggie Bradley are branding cattle up in the mountains on their father's ranch when they find Cross, a black gelding that belongs to Herschel Simpson, one of their dad's hired hands. Upon investigation they find blood on the horse and saddle, but the blood isn't Cross's and where's Herschel? The boys find Herschel on their way home. He's been murdered. But up in the mountains, it could be anyone. How can anyone find a killer in the wide open space of Montana? Detective David Spalletti comes from Great Falls to investigate the murder. What he finds is Dee Simpson, a beautiful widow that's been involved with a dozen men and two glamorous women that are crack shots, one which owns a gun shop and the other which is involved with the sheriff, and has a jealous husband who's also been involved with Dee Simpson.
