Mary is living at her grandmother's seaside cottage for the time being. She hopes to find her inner bliss and learn what is important in life. She spends her time painting the landscape and the sky. While seated in front of a mysterious paper lantern hanging from a cave entrance, she encounters a boy. He is handsome, sweet and disturbingly lonely. Caught in a time crease, he is tied to the cave.
