UNS Philotes is one of three Recreation-class starships with the Planetary Union. Its ongoing duty: to provide the finest in recreational activities, of ALL kinds, to the hardworking men and women of the Union.

The Philotes is assigned a rendezvous with a war ship in deep space. The crew of the Recreation vessel has to deal with intelligent machines who are uncertain as to what to do with their free time, a security chief who finds Lieutenant Hrrok’s involuntary feminization hilarious, and a captain who doesn’t seem interested in anything that the Philotes has to offer!
