It’s 2008, the Democrats have nominated the charismatic Barack Obama, and ambitious Albuquerque Mayor Tomas Zamara is charged with doing "whatever it takes" to deliver New Mexico's five electoral votes for John McCain. He's also grappling with a fierce opponent, his father’s unrelenting pressure to use city money to rescue the family business, and a demanding and volatile new woman who may not be who she says she is. Then, when a flash flood unearths the skeleton of his long-missing wife, he becomes a suspect in her murder.
