“Hey doll, you OK?”
Jade Kinsella turned her head as she headed back behind the counter of the small diner where she worked and threw the woman that was standing there waiting to take orders a smile.
“Yeah, I guess so”
“You guess so?” the athletic woman with the long dirty-blonde hair gave a smirk and shook her head, “That’s not convincing”
“Honestly Lisa, I’m fine” Jade nodded, wincing as she placed the tips she had just collected from one off the tables she had served into the communal jar, and then turned to walk away.
