In prehistoric Ireland lived people who were the ancestors of the Picts of Scotland, the Cruithe. They lived peacefully alongside the mysterious forest-dwelling people of the Rainbow God. Meet the strong characters that are the central cast of The Shapeshifters Series.

Time, so named enigmatically by his bard father Epona, is to found a great, idyllic civilization under the guidance of Epona and Dona, Time's mother. They school him in the ways of psychological mastery, to enable him to rule his agrarian people with perfect justice and fairness, as well as weave for them a culture that would nourish the spirit and sustain their morale.

Things go wrong, however, when the island is invaded once again, by the Belgae tribes. Resourcefully, the plan then incorporates the people of the forest, the Érine. Time must win the hand of a remarkable young woman by means of combat in the forest, against the most startling of rivals.
