Something has to die.

Behind the scenes of a ho-hum, every-day English town an ancient power awaits rediscovery. Sickened by the corporate redevelopment of Colvin into little more than a bland, soulless retail park, a group of students and drop-outs decide to fight back. James Hellier, a young man still reeling from the failure of his first career, gets sucked into the struggle via his idealistic housemates. With the zeal of youth on their side, they set about trying to reawaken the spirit of the town, but the materialistic powers-that-be have other ideas. As the conflict escalates, it becomes apparent that they are a very small part of something much larger and the materialistic agenda is not just about money, either. Loyalties are stretched, young love is tested and ideals are strained as their "ho-hum, every-day" town turns out to be far stranger than any of them imagined. When the line between right and wrong becomes blurred and responsibilities can no longer be avoided, can the friends maintain both their morality and their sanity?
