Stations of the Cross (Kallmünz)

It's an ancient tradition among the Christians, especially in Catholic and Anglican domains, to celebrate the Stations of the Cross, also Way of the Cross or simply The Cross especially in the Holy Week and the Good Friday.

If You search in the internet for these terms (Google, Wikipedia etc.), You'll read that there are some differences within this celebrations. In this ebook You can view a Stations of the Cross with 14 stations, as shown in Kallmünz. The pictures in a modern style are shown isolated from the limestone columns (from the 18th century) of the single stations with the descriptions of the scenes in English, French and German.

These pictures are elaborated in 1995 by the local artist Ludwig "Wigg" Bäuml on copper plates. The stations were erected in the 18th century. The way is about 90 m in length and to go easily.

All stations are on the left handed side of the way. At the end You are in front of the chapel St. Sebastian.

Kallmünz is a market community at the confluence of the rivers Vils and Naab in the administrative district Regensburg in the Oberpfalz. The Sebastiberg up there is this Stations of the Cross.
