SOMEONE’S ON A KILLING SPREE
NOT EVEN THE VERY BEST PLAYER CAN FAKE DEATH

Westside’s Fiddler was officially on hold. The theater was a crime scene.

In the beginning, Kit and Terri as well as the other cops are all sure they got the killer of Littleton behind bars. But more bodies turned up in the theatre, in a bloodbath in what looks to be an accidental killing.

When Terri and Kit got into the theatre, Terri immediately realized nothing in it was accidental. Someone planned the planks to fall exactly when they did. Most of the female actors are dead.

It has become a game of hide and seek and it seems like the cops are losing it with more and more victims getting involved. All the players are dwindling in numbers until a few remains, and one of them is Terri. Kit suspects that if the killer isn’t caught in time, whoever it is would eventually get to her. He has fallen in love with her, and he will do everything he can to save her.

EXCERPT

Bloodbath was an understatement. Terri gagged at the first sight of the awful scene. The two cops got it in the neck. Their glassy eyes stared up at the ceiling, pleading for help that arrived too late to do any good. And the other girls that Ethan had alluded to were out of costume and just as dead.

Winters saw Kit and hurried towards him. He stopped short when he saw his hand clenched in Terri’s.

“What’s she doing here?” Winters demanded.

Terri straightened where she stood. She had every right to know exactly what was going on.

“This is my turf,” she said. “And I’m here to help.”

Winters rolled his eyes and tried to pull Kit as far away from her as possible. His hand was already cupped around Kit’s ear, and as he started to speak he realized that Terri was still at his side.

“Will you give us a moment?” Winters ordered.

How superficial of her to even think that he was the better of the two. Terri wanted to tell Winters as much when Kit left her hand. The split second of worry was replaced by all the security possible as his arm fell around her shoulders.

“She’s with me,” Kit said.

Terri had to smile at him. Kit was also brave.

“I can see that,” Winters said. “But, man, she shouldn’t be here. She’s involved. Maybe she even did this!”

Kit’s hold tightened. “Not possible. She was with me.”

Winters looked from Kit to Terri and back again. Terri rested her head against Kit’s chest. With her eyes she challenged Winters to voice any doubt of make a joke at their expense. He tried to say something as Terri waved her hand in his face.

“And it was spectacular.”
