Creatures of Snow

Fifteen year old Skyden never wanted to be a hero. Honestly, all he wanted was to get through a day, under the radar, but his quick fist and sharp tongue usually kept that from happening.

As luck (depending on your definition of luck) would have it, his odd mixture of raw aggression and curiously invincible nature catches the eye of the director of Axis, a new program at the REALM institute, designed to further mankind’s advancement into other dimensions. Their plan is to train a handful of carefully selected canidates to cross the dangerous and mysterious space between space, dubbed the Snow, as the short cut to a new dimention.

Reluctant at first to join, Skyden is soon won over by his assigned mentor, Con, who introduces him to his true potential and to Sara, one of the other recruits. Things would have been great there, training and advancing his studies for Axis, but his reality starts to crumble after a deadly visit from a warrior of the Mist and the arrival of his estranged brother, Soulen. With a single shot, Skyden's simple life turns into a chaotic race to face the truth of his origins, and outrun the shadows of the Mist.

Skyden never wanted to be a hero, and it’s a good thing, because in this war, there aren't any.
