Journey, Arrival and Retreat

If the past informs the future we as seniors, must glance over our shoulder careful not to repeat a misplaced step and stumble, keep our eye on what lies ahead to ensure our destined arrival...but what if our progressive existence takes a detour leading us down a lane inviting shrugging acceptance or retreat?
